He earned his medical degree from Cairo University Faculty of Medicine and completed an internal medicine residency at Fairview General Hospital, part of Cleveland Clinic Health System, where he continued as an internist in an office-based practice. During his residency, he served on the teaching faculty at Fairview General Hospital.
