Alex Avila, Therapist, Director

Alex A. Avila, MA, LPC, CAC, NCC, ACS, CBCP, is a therapist, author and speaker. He specializes in couple therapy, individual therapy, sex addiction recovery, and affair recovery. Alex also uses EMDR to help his clients overcome trauma and addiction.

He founded Relationship Institute of the Rockies to deliver relationship and mental health education and couples retreats and evidence-based workshops to the public to emphasize prevention and supplement their personal therapy.

In addition to private counseling, Alex and his team of professional counselors offer a variety of classes, workshops and free seminars to help people cope with stress, anxiety, depression, addiction and grief as well as thrive in their most important relationships.

We use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Eye-Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Biofeedback.

We also partner with area experts who complement our services such as Neurofeedback, Chiropractic, Fitness and additional service providers who encourage our clients to attain and sustain a whole-health lifestyle.
