Dr. Wilson will take time with you. During your first appointment, she will take your health history, find out about your diet, stress levels, use of tobacco and alcohol, and discuss why you’re there. She keeps up-to-date on the latest scientific research and incorporates this evidence into her recommendations. She will work with you to set up a customized health management strategy. If necessary, she will collaborate with your current doctors.

A first visit with a patient may last one hour and follow-up visits range from 30 to 60 minutes, although this varies depending on the patient. Besides taking the time to carefully and fully assess a patient’s root problem, A naturopathic consultation brings to the patient a whole new arsenal of recommendations and insights. Instead of waiting for a disease to emerge, Dr. Wilson works with her patients to head it off before it happens.

Services Naturopathic medicine is truly a patient-centered, integrative approach to wellness and health. Under the umbrella of naturopathic medicine is integrated conventional medicine and alternative medicine. Some of the methods used during consultation are the following:

Physical Medicine and Exercise

Naturopathic doctors can manipulate your muscles, bones, and spine. They also may use heat and cold, pressures, and exercise therapy. Physical medicine and muscle conditioning can provide significant, natural and lasting pain relief.

Environmental Medicine, Detoxification, and Hydrotherapy

Our bodies are constantly detoxifying harmful substances encountered in our environment. Because we’re constantly flooded with toxins, industrial chemicals, metals, pesticides, food additives, and drugs, sometimes the body just can’t keep up and needs extra help and support.

Oriental Medicine

Oriental Medicines, such as Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture/Acupressure, Ayurvedic Medicine, are ancient medicines that are scientifically proven to be beneficial to patients with certain conditions.

Clinical Nutrition and Dietary Supplements

You are what you eat. A nutritional plan may be customized to address your specific needs. However, it is challenging for even the most nutrition-conscious among us to get all of the nutrients we need through diet. Individual differences in conditions and genetics may require more of certain nutrients.

Herbal Medicine and Homeopathy

Herbs were our first medicines. Botanicals can be very powerful and can interact with certain medications and conditions. Dr. Wilson can recommend quality herbal products and recommend which ones to avoid. Naturopathic doctors may also prescribe homeopathic remedies, a 200-year-old-gentle system of medicine.

Mind/Body Medicine and Lifestyle

Dr. Wilson works with her patients to involve them in the process of making lifestyle changes, stress reduction, and improving the connections between mind and body healing.
