Julie Sherman, Ph.D.

Dr. Sherman is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in children to young adulthood. Dr. Sherman is a board certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) - which is an evidence based practice that reduces challenging behaviors and replaces them with functional and socially appropriate behaviors. It is used in behavior disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, Compliance Disorders, Conduct Disorders, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Aggression, Pica (eating non-food items like dirt,clay, etc), Tourette's Syndrome (tics), Learning Disorders, Intellectual Disabilities, Toilet training, School problems, and many other behavioral problems.

Dr. Sherman provides assessments, evaluations, and testing to provide an accurate diagnosis. After diagnosis, Dr. Sherman provides a personalized and individual intervention plan. This is discussed in length with the parents and/or client.

Dr. Sherman also provides Biofeedback, which teaches a client to self regulate his physiological state (such as heart rates, sweating, and muscle tension) using computerized technology while watching a movie or playing a game. It is especially useful in anxiety, stress, and relaxation. This is open to all ages from children to adult seniors.

Dr. Sherman also provides Neurofeedback, which allows the patient to train his brainwaves while viewing movies or playing games. This has proven to be useful in ADHD, Depression, Autism Spectrum Disorders. Learning Disabilities, Traumatic Brain Injury, Addiction, Memory, Anger, and many more. This is open to all ages.

Dr. Sherman provides social skills groups for children to young adults that teaches appropriate skills that are age appropriate to that child.

Dr. Sherman also provides Positive Parenting Classes to all parents regardless of the child's mental or physical limitations. Dr. Sherman believes that every parent should have the best possible parenting skills possible to help the parent deal with such aspects as tantrums, discipline, fostering good self-esteem, and self-management skills.

Dr. Sherman provides Family Therapy for families of children with behavioral problems, learning disorders, Intellectual Disabilities, etc.
