As human beings, most of us have the desire to seek, achieve and maintain overall health and well being. I work with the acknowledgement and understanding that the body, mind and spirit are not separate, but intertwined components of an entire person. Combining my training and experience as both a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Massage Therapist allows me to assist people to work toward this goal in a holistic way. My professional career spans over 30 years, combining multiple career paths in industry, mental and physical health, and massage and bodywork. During those years, I have remained involved within the LGBTQ community as an activist and an advocate. I currently work with US veterans and their families in a variety of ways.

My focus is on wellness, and I work with people living with HIV, with pain, with trauma, with substance abuse, with depression or anxiety; and with those people who simply want to experience relaxation, stress reduction, growth, healing, transition or discovery in their lives. I am also a Somatic Experiencing® practitioner. I may use Somatic Experiencing® as part of your therapy. Somatic Experiencing® is a gentle way of "titrating" experience, and employs awareness of body sensation to help people "renegotiate" and heal rather than re-live or re-enact trauma. I studied social work and psychotherapy at Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida. I studied massage therapy at Lindsey Hopkins Technical Education Center in Miami, Florida. My work is influenced by several schools of psychotherapy, therapeutic massage and somatic practices (bodywork), all of which help people to understand their bodies, injuries, emotional lives, relationships, illnesses and personal dynamics as part of their healing process.
