Dr. Bontia received her Doctor of Medicine from University of the Philippines and then completed an Internship at Staten Island University Hospital in New York. Then, she did her residency training in Neurology at North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System also in New York. After completing training, Dr. Bontia was in private practice in Maine for 5 years.
Dr. Bontia is board certified in both Neurology and Neuromuscular Medicine by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology. She is also board certified in Electrodiagnostic Medicine by the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and a Fellow of the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine.
Her clinical areas of interest include headaches, neuromuscular disorders such as neuropathy, dementia and Alzheimers.
Being closer to family brought her to Texas. And, she chose Medical & Surgical Clinic of Irving because of their stellar reputation for excellent patient care. In her spare time, Dr. Bonita enjoys hiking, biking, traveling and cooking. She is also fluent in Tagalog (Filipino).

I was seen almost as soon as I walked in the door. I didn't have to reorganize my day around my appointment at all. They've never been late to any of my appointments. I've even showed up early sometimes and they've always been ready and prepared. They've never used foul language, which has bothered me at some of the other places I've been too. They always make an extra effort to be polite and courteous. One thing I noticed about their office was how absolutely fantastic it smelled. They must clean or sanitize all the time. The staff was very helpful no matter how many times I called with a question or concern. They never made me feel uncomfortable for asking any question.

I appreciated that they were still concerned about my health even after I left the office. They followed up with me after my appointment and everything. Whenever I make an appointment, I'm always confident that they're going to be ready for me at my scheduled time. At other places I've been to, it's always bothered me when they postpone my appointment, but they've never done that here. They always return my phone calls quickly. I always know that I'll get a prompt answer to my question. They have really great customer service here. They always put their customers first, regardless of the situation. Dr. Bontia really knows her speciality and gets to your problem with a quick and certain diagnosis and treatment. One of the very few doctors I would recommend to others.

Absolutely not!! They never listen to customers complaints and argue with them
