I found Pickering Veterinary purely by luck, and she ended up being a blessing to both my family and my dog Gizmo. I've used a couple of the more popular Vets in our area (Fairhaven & New Bedford) in the past and was dreading having to use them again...Ive know people who have literally refinanced their homes to pay for their pets treatment (I clearly understand the love between pets and their owners, pets are family)
thank God that wasn't the case with our pet, but even the simplest diagnosis and treatment cost a pretty penny and then some at the more so called "REPLICABLE " vetrinaries! With PICKERING, the vet comes to your house, SHE absolutely great with pets, like the animal whispered! You can see her passion in the way she cares for the animal, SHE explains everything step by step, she will return your call in a fair amount of time, and get to your home quick. Prescriptions are fairly reasonable at times even cheap. Unfortunately she is unable to perform procedures that the larger Vets can, but hey we can't have it all!

On a Saturday recently, our elderly cat, who had been sick for a while, took a severe downturn - incontinence, clear pain, crying, refusing to eat or drink. We were concerned about her rapid decline but had been prepared for this eventuality and it became clear that it was time to put her down because she was miserable. Our cat was scared of the vet - I mean terrified. Most animals dislike the vet, but she would shake and pant and took forever to calm down once we got her home. We didn't want her last moments to be like that, so we looked into a mobile vet service. We called Pickering on Saturday and they were able to set an appointment for Sunday. They came promptly, they did not rush us, and they displayed great compassion both towards the cat and towards us, The cat never showed any distress. They were professional and seemed knowledgeable and the rates were reasonable. They even sent a condolence card later that week! I was extremely impressed and wish only that we had known of them sooner. I would recommend them to anyone.
