I normally never leave reviews, but I use ratings and personal experiences from others to help me choose everything from dentists to dry cleaners. For once I thought I would return the favor because I cannot recommend Cheryl Mattison highly enough. I had never seen a therapist before, but I was having a great deal of anxiety related to my job. My anxiety started effecting my family and the quality of my life, but I believed that counseling was for people who just wanted to whine and were not very strong, (I know archaic thinking). My anxiety attacks had become unbearable and my life felt completely out of control.
Although I would never had admitted it, when I went for my first appointment, I was nervous, but Cheryl immediately put me at easy. I shared my history and behaviors that I found very difficult to talk about, and it was through Cheryl’s compassion and insight that I was able to understand the underlying causes of my anxiety. Even more importantly she taught me how to manage my panic attacks. Cheryl always treated me with the utmost respect and I highly value her expertise. I don’t see her anymore, but it was through her help and direction that I took control back of my life. I know that I can always go back if I am every faced with challenges again.

Cheryl has helped my teenage son - she is completely invested in his over success. She is a great listener and has given him the tools he needs to be the best possible person he can be.
We highly recommend her!
