Dr. Caudill has been lovingly caring for our pets for almost two decades. Yes, there are other good vets in the area, but we trust Dr. Caudill. We live on a farm and have both shelter dogs and abandoned cats who’ve become our pets. Over the years, she’s treated common ailments as well as diagnosed more complex problems. Dr. Caudill has the professional credentials (DVM degree) and keeps current by attending conferences, etc. Just this past month, Dr. Caudill saved the life of one of our beloved cats by diagnosing the problem accurately and providing immediate treatment. She also told us honestly how gravely ill our cat was. When we called her office, we were able to talk directly with Dr. Caudill and she saw us immediately. She was finished for the day, but she stayed until we could get there. Because she cares. Even though it was an emergency, Dr. Caudill did not charge high emergency fees like most vets—just her regular reasonable fees. That’s typical of how Dr. Caudill runs her office—she loves animals. She knows her patients both animal and human. She tells you what is going on with your pet, gives you options in treatment, and clearly provides her recommendations. She is compassionate and honest. If it’s bad news, she tells you straight up but gently. If needed, she’ll offer tests. Dr. Caudill doesn’t have the shiny new building and lots of staff running around—and doesn’t have to pay for all that overhead. Instead, she has a simple trailer that is relaxed and comfortable—for both humans and animals. She focuses less on appearance and more on providing personal quality care. Dr. Caudill also knows we humans love our animals, and her compassionate care tends to heal us, too. We trust Dr. Caudill, but perhaps more importantly, our pets trust her.

I just talked with Dr. Caudill and she is still practicing.
So, the "closed" note that comes up on other sites (Yelp for example) is incorrect information.
In fact, Dr. Caudill has been our only vet since we moved to the Morehead area almost 20 years ago. She has the credentials (DVM degree) but also years of experience to back up the book learning. There are other great vets in the area, but we choose to go to Dr. Caudill. We love her gentle touch with our cats and dogs, but also her high professionalism and experience. As we live on a farm and have a number of animals, we appreciate the fact that Dr. Caudill is practical--she will not order unnecessary tests like many vets do. She takes a practical approach, if the treatment will do no harm and will help diagnose the problem while also helping your pet, she'll do that. She endeared us on our first visit when we arrived early and heard her in the back talking to the cats she was treating--talking to them just as if they were her own. On the one occasion we had to put down a cat, Dr. Caudill was very compassionate--to our pet and to us. Dr. Caudill is not the vet to go to if you want your pet to have all the shiny new tests, just because they are available. She is a phenomenal diagnostician because she’s seen (and treated) it all. Dr. Caudill is the vet to go to if you want a professional, compassionate, and experienced vet who will treat your pets as her own. Maggie M
