Dr Ringle looked in my dogs eyes new right away she has an ulcer and entropian , scheduled surgery

Dr Ringle is a godsend. My vet on Staten Island Vet misdiagnosed my dog, and said he had glaucoma. She said he may very well lose at least one of his eyes. After 3 days of myself, my wife, and my 3 teenage kids crying at this prospect (hes only 7), I came to my senses and concluded I had to take him to a specialist. The Red Bank animal hospital got me an appt with Dr Ringle the very next day. I bring him in, and tell Dr Ringle hes got glaucoma. My dogs eyes were in bad shape, crazy red, oozing discharge, and could barely open. Dr Ringle takes one quick look, gives me a smirk, and says "I dont think so". Honestly folks, Ill never forget his reaction. He immediately threw on his binocular magnifiers (which the vets dont have), and did an in depth examination. To him, its all in a days work, but to watch him in action, it resembled to me that relief you feel when a family member has a medical emergency, and the Fire and Police dept shows up and walk into your house. My dog had dry eye. Still a serious condition, but not the death sentence to the eyes that is glaucoma. He prescribed dry eye meds and antibiotic to clear up the 3 ulcers on my dogs eye. What infuriated me was my vet first diagnosed eye drops with steroids that exasperate ulcers, and actually feed them. I was giving him that for almost 2 weeks. Then for 3 days I was giving him glaucoma meds, that made my dog wince and cry everytime I dropped them in. My Vet was a very nice person, but they shouldnt be attempting to treat serious conditions like this. They simply dont have the training for it. So 3 weeks after Dr Ringle diagnosed him, my dog has made a complete recovery. He doesnt even squint anymore, and hes back to his happy self. He'll have to be on meds the rest of his life, but I dont care. Thank God for folks like Dr Ringle, who dedicate themselves to being specialists. There arent many of them, but they are so in need. I have since transferred my primary care to Red Bank Animal hospital. Its a 30 minute drive from Staten Island, but its so worth it. Its an amazing place, full of the best doctors. After my mishap, I just couldnt go anywhere else.
