My friend put his business card into a fishbowl at a gas station and "won" a free meal for himself and up to 20 friends. My husband and I was invited to this meal. WORST mistake was going to begin with!!! It is a scheme to get as many new recruits for their shady practice as possible. I wish I would have just smiled and said NO THANKS! They promise your first 3 visits are "free" IF you make an appt there on the spot. WARNING: THIS IS A BAIT AND SWITCH TACTIC I went to my first visit on a Friday. I get there and they hand me a little hand out that I have to read, then they ask me a question about what the handout "teaches" me. Then I am told to fill out what seems like normal new patient paperwork. I am then taken back and given x-rays and a thermal imaging. They basically claim they can help cure dis-ease with their care and really dog the medical community. I dont love allopathic doctors, but sometimes they ARE needed, these people would like you to think that md's are not needed. RED FLAG The results are not discussed like what would happen at a normal Chiro. Instead you are told to make your 2nd and 3rd appt. Come to find out, if you dont make these next 2 appts, you will be charged and unexpected $185 for the xrays. Feeling tricked and pressured, I made my second appt for the following monday. They then pressure me to make a 3rd appt where I MUST bring my spouse so the Chiro can go over the report. I told them my hubby is on the road all week working so he cant come. They put off scheduling my 3rd appt so my hubby can come. They REALLY pressure you to bring your spouse. This made me VERY uncomfortable. I go monday for my 2nd appt. By this time I had sat all weekend and read about the unethical marketing that fraud type chiros use and THESE people fit the bill 100% I get there, ask the lady up front for my consent papers so I can look over them with the doc. She gives them to me She also gives me another little pamphlet to read over then asks me three things I should have "learned" from it. This seems like a basic brainwashing scheme. I am taken back to see the doctor and I pull out my paperwork to ask him if he saw some info, I felt was important and he seemed very uninterested in my concerns about a certain condition I have. He just wanted to go into his "marketing" speel. I am blown off on my concern. I then ask why I am being pressured so hard to bring my husband with me for my next appt. I am basically told that he needs to come because I am not able to explain what my condition is (something the doc hasnt even done up to this point even) to my husband properly and even if I did explain it properly my husband wont understand what I am saying. So basically my husband and I are not intelligent enough to correlate whats happening....that really made me feel upset. Thats when I finally said that I only came because I was pressured to or I would have to pay for the xrays and that its a bait and switch. This upset Dr. Matt and he burst out that it cost HIM $300 some dollars!!! He says I will release you from my care. I asked if I would be charged for the xrays still and I told him I feel like I am being decieved through all this and he stood up and says OUT FRONT NOW!! I followed him out and instead of stopping at the desk I said nothing and walked straight out the door. They then called the police because I left with my patient info, which I was unaware they owned. The sheriff was very understanding and refused to press charges on me for theft, as they wanted to do, and said if I brought the papers back, he would not charge me. So I took the paper back. I will fight the charge for xrays though because they use unethical and dishonest ways to hook you.
