We are growing! We're adding new activities every month, we have a garden, we cook, we bake (and we eat what we make!) Soon we'll have exercise bicycles, and a fitness program! We're moving every day toward physical and mental health!

Horizon Circle of Friends is a Peer-run, Consumer-owned Drop-In Center located at 1873 Lincoln Road, Allegan, Michigan, 49010, providing friendship, support and empowerment for adults aged 19 and older recovering from mental Illness. We support Peers in every corner of Allegan County. Michigan. Horizon Circle of Friends is a place where adults with mental illness can come to share their life experiences with other Peers (folks who share similar experiences, like dealing with hospitalizations, medications, doctors, therapies, etc.). It's a place where people can be assured they will NOT be stigmatized, or be thought less-of, because they have been diagnosed with a mentally illness. Members support each other through good times and bad -- this is a safe place where trust and trustworthiness are valued highly. Oh, and we love to laugh. A lot!We are growing! Services
We are NOT an adult day care program. Members must over the age of 18, and must be able to take care of all their needs, including medications; monitoring what, and how much, they eat; hygiene, etc.. We invite participants to come willingly and we hope that they are eager to contribute to our program, and be responsible and honest members.
We offer regular classes and gatherings. We are currently participating in a Wellness Initiative, and challenging each other to eat well and get appropriate exercise. We play games, do arts and some craft activities. We have a writing group. We participate in the annual Walk a Mile in My Shoes mental health advocacy rally in Lansing, Michigan.
Research shows that participation in Peer-run Drop-In activities prevents re-hospitalization, and SAVES mental health dollars over the long-haul. Peer support is healing support!
