About Stephen Benson, Psychologist
Dr. Benson works with children, teens, and adults of all ages, individually and in relationships. Treatment is adjusted to the personalities, developmental stages, cultural backgrounds, and preferences of those served. Pleasure, curiosity, humor, respect, understanding, and relaxation are encouraged, since they are essential to the therapeutic process. Individual differences and the compromises of contemporary life as each person experiences these are important to value and appreciate.
Dr. Benson is experienced in work with many kinds and degrees of anxiety, depression, stress, anger, conflict, trauma, stuckness, and maladjustment. Appointments between 8.30 am and 6 pm are usually possible. Dr. Benson has continuing relations with Mainecare, Medicare, and a variety of commercial insurance payments.
