About

Jo Ann Brehm

The Bridges at Bent Creek is a vibrant senior living and retirement community near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania that also has a secure memory care unit for individuals with advancing Alzheimer’s disease or similar dementias. Residents receive assisted living services, including adult day care, memory care support, and more, which are all tailored to their specific needs. Because our philosophy of service is to provide person-centered care for individuals who have made this their home, we work with family members to determine the exact level of care that an individual needs to enjoy their life. For those who live in our traditional personal care residence and do best with a structured day, they receive care in an organized and therapeutic environment where they can make friends and participate in activities they’re interested in, while receiving care that’s focused on their cognitive, physical, and psycho-social well-being. Those residents that have advancing Alzheimer’s disease or a similar dementia receive superior care to support their needs and dignity in our secure memory care unit. Individuals receiving Alzheimer’s care participate in small group settings, where our well-trained and consistent staff enhance their quality of life through programs and activities that are meaningful and that add joy to their day. The educated and caring staff at The Bridges at Bent Creek receives ongoing training to enhance their knowledge base about Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Amenities for our senior community include housekeeping and linen service, satellite TV in all apartments, a private bathroom, a 24-hour emergency two-way call system in each residence, access to an on-site rehabilitation suite and an exercise room, as well as three meals every day served restaurant-style in our dining room. We have partnered with a company to provide our residents with physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Families are encouraged to visit The Bridges at Bent Creek, and we offer a complete program of recreational activities for residents to enjoy each day. We offer transportation to scheduled events on our recreation calendar, and have plenty of other activities (such as various clubs) that reflect the interests of our residents. Give us a call today to see why our residents enjoy living in our senior apartments, while their families know that they are receiving the best care possible.

Services We offer various levels of care that comes from an annual assessment, which is reviewed with family members, to re-assess the level of care that traditional care residents require.

Our “Seasons” program provides a structured and therapeutic adult day care program for those residents living in our traditional personal care residences who have mild-to-moderate memory impairment. This provides individuals with an opportunity to attend activities 7 days a week where they form friendships, and participate in activities that focus on maintaining cognitive, physical, and psycho-social wellness in a small-group setting. This program is an integral part of the care we provide for residents who reside in a traditional personal care setting at The Bridges at Bent Creek, but who benefit from having a structured day.

Another area we specialize in is Alzheimer’s and dementia care. For those who need to live in a secure residential area, “The Garden” offers specialized memory care for our residents in spacious, private and semi-private, living accommodations.

Daily programs open up opportunities for residents to interact with their peers throughout each day, 7 days a week, based on their activity interests and personal needs. Our staff receives ongoing training that is specific to caring for individuals with early stage and advanced Alzheimer’s and dementia.

We have a consistent team that works with both our Seasons and Garden residents, and we offer social activities to encourage family members to join their loved ones to experience special family times.

Depending on availability, short-term and respite care is provided by The Bridges at Bent Creek – a two-week stay minimum is required.
