Dr. Zane is a Hawaii native who attended college in California, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Zoology from the University of California, Davis. He continued on to Washington State University, where he earned his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Zane has been practicing Veterinary Medicine for over 25 years and lives in Honolulu with his family and his pug, Poppy.

Dr. Sterling Iwashita and Dr. Jeffery Zane founded Koolau Animal Hospital in 1988 and have over 55 combined years of veterinary experience.
Dr. Iwashita is a Hawaii native who graduated from Colorado State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. He has been practicing Veterinary Medicine for over 25 years and has lived in Honolulu for over 50 years.

Services The care of your pet is our utmost concern and comfort during all procedures is critical. We provide the most advanced techniques to help your pet.

We offer a variety of exams and we can combine complete pet health checkup with veterinary diagnostic tests. We do blood tests to check for anemia, white blood cell counts, blood sugar levels, heart worms, liver and kidney conditions.

Our other veterinary procedures could be for minor examinations like eye, ear and throat examinations or slightly more difficult procedures like surgery may require sedation and anesthesia for a short time.

We also do other other exams to make diagnosis easier. These include veterinary imaging tests like X rays and more.
