Well, if you have an airplane you want to fly,he's the man. But if you have a pet that needs healed, think again. He owns the Emergency Clinic in Lake Charles which is such a shame. I have a cat that has a tumor in her ear that needs to be removed and when I knew Dr. Emerson from many years ago when he was a newbie vet in Texas City, he would have jumped at the chance to save a life. Now, I guess he has too much time and too much money to waste on saving an innocent cat's life. I took my 12 (at least) year old cat to the clinic he's supposed to work at when he's not busy doing other things. After the rudeness at the counter, I was told my cat would need surgery to remove a tumor from her ear. My husband who has been working on Dr. Emerson's airplane for a long time talked to him and was told he didn't do that anymore, to go along with the vet's recommendation of a $600 surgery at University Animal Clinic. Think again if you think he still has a heart for animals. This is not the John Emerson I knew in Texas City who would sit for hours and make medications for your sick dog. I guess money has its ways.

When John can give you the feeling that he is working on a loved one with your pet, you know he knows what he is doing. My wife is very picky and when we recently brought our dog in, it was the best decision we could have ever made. Comfort, got the job done, improved my pets situation and made sure he explained everything even when we asked similar or same questions. He listens and responds appropriately, not just to move you on.
We are in good hands going forward with our 3 pets and who knows how many more.
