I had a court order to visit with this provider. She called me on the phone and completed an intake with me via webex. I felt she was reasonable during that transaction. She then scheduled a time to meet my daughter. That interaction was very short. Her office is strange as it is located in the basement of a church and she does not have a comfortable sitting area for her guests. Which seems odd for a professional. Following the meeting with my daughter she advised me that she was going to schedule a session with my daughter and her father. I told her NO. My daughter is a sex abuse victim and at no time should a child sex abuse victim be placed with a perpetrator without further trust of the therapist and many more steps being taken. You don't just meet with a child for 10 minutes and then throw them in with a perpetrator. You don't know triggers, manipulation characteristics of the offending party, how the child will alert you when they need a break or are intimidated or scared, what will it look like when the child wants to run but cannot. There are so many questions that need to be asked before this interaction takes place. She did not know the details of the abuse or what happened to the child, what, when, why, how long. When did it stop. How did it stop. Is she comfortable now to say no. So, many other things. She was just willing to put my daughter into a triggering and traumatic situation without thinking of all of the ramifications that would come of that interaction. Permanent ones at that.

What a nightmare! She claimed I was unemployed when I left my ex and I literally had paystubs. She attended my Daughter’s birthday party with my ex, but didn’t make it to my place or talk to my family. In her report she stated that I had told her something that could’ve only come from my ex. The disconnection was traumatizing! Blind as a bat
