Their staff was friendly enough, but they didn't go out of their way to help me in that after losing an entire night of sleep thanks to a poorly prescribed drink concoction which left me going all night--not the way it is supposed to be, or at all similar to a similar procedure earlier in another state, I was asked to sign papers with small print and carry out a conversation about responsibility for billings. Basically, I had no clue what I was signing, given my exhausted state. This should have been given to me to sign well before and not right before the procedure with no sleep. I would never recommend this center and their notification procedures to anyone. They are completely inadequate. This provider left me totally in the dark as to how much it was going to cost me out of pocket (after the insurance portion). If I had known the total costs and that they would come from at least a half dozen different providers, I would not have gone ahead with the procedure. They told me a little bit about my treatment's risks and benefits and also gave me small print in several forms, but again, I was in no position to sign such forms at that time. I was about to go under and I was exhausted from no sleep. The timing was inappropriate and probably not by accident, in my opinion. I expected the medical insurance company to pay most of the cost but it turned out that we were charged a few thousands of dollars from several providers. How can there even be so many involved in one procedure? In another state, the same procedure was completed by a team of four nurses. Here, it was doctor upon doctor, specialists, etc. Costly, and I had no idea it was to be like that. It seems highly unethical at the very least to me. I do not believe I knew as much as I wanted to know before I signed the papers just before the procedure with little sleep. Yes, of course we disputed the bill and the half dozen other bills that came along with it -- one at a time -- every two weeks or even several months later. Another one pops up. If I were to use this center again (and I will not), I would ask to review the paperwork several days in advance and also ask specific questions about the cost, how much the insurance will pay, who will perform the procedure, how many doctors will be involved and why, how much they will charge, and so on. Be very careful. It is made to seem routine and comfortable. And then, in a few weeks and a few months time - surprise, here are six to seven bills from various doctors you've never heard of before and they all want anywhere from say $350 to @1,2000 from you. Oh, what's the matter? Didn't you read the fine print? Gotcha.
