I had 2 small dogs spayed and neutered. While making an appointment on the phone and inquiring about the charges I EXPLICITLY asked if the spay and neuter coupons would cover the entire costs. I was told yes, they even cover an overnight stay if necessary. After the procedure, the receptionist told be I owed an additional $80.00. This is NOT WHAT I WAS TOLD ON THE PHONE! I always ask first about cost; I HAVE TO because my income is a Social Security check. The vet, though, does seem to be an honorable man. The $80. surprise fee is a challenge to my monthly budget, and considering what I was told on the phone, it seems sneaky and unethical. I don't want to be considered cheap, and trying to get something for nothing, which I wasn't, but in all fairness to consumers, the fee promised should be the fee charged.
In my opinion, consumers should be dealt with honestly.
