This company was engaged to take care of my Dad's medical equipment needs by the head of the OU Medical Trauma Center. My dad had an injury to his leg that left him missing a paper towel roll sized part of his lower leg. He had a tendon and nerve exposed. The wound was to the bone. He needed an EVAC unit. which suctioned the blood and drainage from his wound. Understand this is a wound the size of a roll of paper towels. On the paperwork they sent to my parents with the equipment it said to contact them when anything was needed. As per instructions from the Dr and the Home Health Agency my mom began contacting them by phone to get more cartridges for the Evac unit. My dad was using about 1 cartridge every 24 hours because the blood and drainage would fill the cartridge completely up and shut the evac unit off. She called everyday and it has now been 7 days. The woman my mom spoke to suggested that my mom just dress the wound with bandages because it was using more than medicare usually pays for. What kind of self respecting medical company does this to an elderly person with this kind of wound? Do they really want to supply the need or is it just what they decide to supply? My mom and the rest of the family gladly pay for anything to keep my dad's wound healthy if that is their problem but they didn't even make the request to medicare or bother to check with the Dr about it. My parents live in a rural area and they finally had to drive 1 1/2 hours back to OKC with the Evac unit over full and feeding old blood and discharge back onto this wound which is a huge infection risk so they could find some cartridges from another company. No I would not recommend this company to you or even for my pets. I wouldn't even give 1 star if I had that choice after the "service" my parents have received.
