Nasty for no reason!
The pharmacist behind the pharmacy counter, in the back of the store at Levin's Oceanside pharmacy, responded to me in a very nasty and loud voice when I asked if they sell an amino acid called N-ACETYL CYSTEINE. This amino acid is safe and FDA approved for sale over the counter. I've bought it everywhere without any problem. N-acetyl cysteine is used to counteract acetaminophen and carbon monoxide poisoning. It can give people relief from the coughing, wheezing, and thick phlegm associated with cold and flu. It is a great defense against the flu in the elderly. In a very angry voice the pharmacist said we don't sell that unless a doctor orders it! I bought it many times and in many places but never had any pharmacy or store get so nasty about the question. I went to the Vitamin Shoppe and bought it there from a very friendly staff. If you want to be treated nicely, go to CVS or Ocean Chemists in Oceanside. They are much nicer to people. I'll never go to Levin's pharmacy again!
