I have had numerous animals who were all patients of Dr Brooks...for over 10 years. Excellent care, excellent service, excellent Dr. Recently a feral kitten showed up on my property that was obviously in distress, trouble breathing, discharge in eyes. It would not eat or drink and appeared listless. I immediately called the clinic and asked to speak to the office manager. She called me back and I asked if the kitten could be seen and could I please be billed as funds are short right now. I was immediately told "no, we don't bill." Apparently 10 years of loyal patronage with numerous pets count for nothing. Excellent care, excellent service, excellent Dr...but don't let anything happen to your pet while funds are low because apparently you will be turned away. Did this change my opinion of this clinic? You betcha. Will I be looking for another veterinarian whose concern for the health of the animal override the monetary moment? Absolutely. (As an aside, I want to include that I understand that veterinarians work for pay..my point is that a client with numerous animals was turned away when they (me) were ashamedly up front about not being able to pay "that" day and was refused) Shame on the office staff of Blue Ridge, and shame on you Dr Brooks for showing no mercy to your loyal customers.
