I took my cat to Will Rogers Animal Hospital on a Thursday morning as she was not eating & a little lethargic but alert & walking. We authorized them to do blood work & other tests. They called Thursday around noon & asked if they could do a leukemia test stating she was running a fever and they would call with the result. I never heard back so I called later Thursday afternoon for an update & was informed the test was negative. Her condition was the same & still hasn’t eaten. Friday I called again to check on her & the front desk told me she was doing the same however her temperature was normal & if she ate she could come home Saturday. I called Saturday morning & again they told me her temperature was normal but she still hadn’t eaten. I stated I could pick her up & see if perhaps being home would help and they agreed. She was put in her carrier & brought out yowling so I was happy to hear her as I paid my bill and got the antibiotics. When I got home to get her out of the carrier I noticed a huge baseball size lump on her left shoulder down her leg and she wouldn’t get up. I called back immediately & she said to bring her back in & they would look at her. When I got there she told me that she wouldn't be still last night & it was just fluids but it would absorb they just forgot to tell me she couldn't walk. I asked if I could give her nutri-cal since she hadn’t eaten since I dropped her off. I get back home & realize it’s not the lump on her shoulder keeping her down that something was terribly wrong. She couldn’t see; she was blind & had no strength to even hold her head up. They never told me anything was wrong or that she was so sick but just that she had a fever, then it was normal but she wasn’t eating. Not once was I told her condition had changed from when I brought her in. I am certainly not a veterinarian & had no clue what she needed. She started having seizures & screaming so I took her back to Will Rogers Animal Hospital & I was rudely told I needed to take her to an emergency clinic. Catoosa Small Animal Clinic was absolutely stunned that Dr. J C Bryson & Dr. Wallace would ever let my beloved kitty leave their clinic or that they wouldn’t inform me of her dire condition. They examined her & said she was hemorrhaging over her entire body; she had blood in her urine & was having brain seizures. Had I not picked her up she would have had a horrible & slow painful death. They said they may not have been able to save her from the get go but they would have kept me informed of any and all changes & that they would have found out what was wrong with her. With all of this new information we agreed it would be best to end her suffering. I also have a video showing how they sent her home which will make you physically sick. Monday I called to speak to either vet & never got a return call. I took the extra step & wrote a letter to them of everything that had transpired & hand delivered it. The office was packed & I did not make a scene even though my heart had been ripped out & I felt nothing but sheer anger & disappointment. I pulled one of the girls aside & privately told her what happened & asked to speak to one of the vets. They wouldn't see me so I asked for either of them to call. I never got a call even after multiple calls to speak with them over the course of two weeks. Extremely poor communication to say the least & they did not state the condition of my beloved kitty. I will never step foot in that clinic again. I'm amazed at the stories similar to mine & wish more people would tell their unfortunate experiences such as I am. I hope no one has to experience the heartache of their treasured animal like I did. I trusted JC Bryson & Ron Wallace to be competent Veterinarians who would treat my animals with care, compassion & keep me informed but they failed miserably.
