My Siberian Husky is like a cat with 9 lives due to the expert care she has received at Southdale Pet Hospital in Edina, Minnesota. Although Blizzard is now 12 years old, she has tricked death numerous times as a result of the state-of-the-art treatment Drs. Adams, Magnuson and Clausman have provided her.

Most recently, Dr. Adams and Dr. Magnuson have given Blizzard a winning formula for her acute lung infection. Three times now she has literally gone from being totally debilitated to her frisky (although aging) self after their care for this condition. As we all know our animals are really part of our family, I am of course grateful.

But Blizzard’s story does not end there. Blizzard had an even more dramatic return to life after surgery a year and a half ago for the removal of a 5 pound tumor off her liver. I received a phone call while at work during the surgery, in which Dr. Adams requested my permission to have the surgeon aggressively remove a large mass. I agreed, and it proved to be the right thing to do, as Blizzard went from totally not eating and exhibiting extreme lethargy before surgery, to a being a perky big girl shortly thereafter. (I hope to send my thanks to the surgeon if Blizzard's record indicates his name.)

Oh, but there is more. Years prior to her surgery, Blizzard had been boarded in a kennel while we were traveling. Unfortunately, upon our return, Blizzard had acquired a severe case of Pancreatitis. After a very effective treatment plan by Southdale Pet Hospital, Blizzard bounced from near death back to total vitality.

Less catastrophic , but nonetheless urgent, Blizzard years ago sliced open an 8 inch gash in her leg while trying to slip under a fence in pursuit of a musk rat. Stitched up by Southdale Pet Hospital, she was good as new.

Ah, but Blizzard began her legacy of good veterinary care by Southdale Pet Hospital, which saved her from demise, many years ago. It was the very founder of this fine organization, Dr. Clausman, which diagnosed Blizzard with consumption of rat poison, which had nearly killed her. I had originally had no clue what was causing Blizzard to go from a bouncy, tireless youngster to knocking on death’s door. With one look into her mouth, Dr. Clausman remarked that a grey spot on Blizzard’s tongue was indicative of rat poisoning. Sure enough, blood tests were conclusive. Although I had never purchased rat poison, the previous owners of the house had, and somehow our inquisitive lass had managed to find and consume it. With a blood transfusion made possible through over-nighted Greyhound blood from a donor in California, and injections of vitamin K, Blizzard returned to the land of the living.

While I realize no pet can live forever, I am still very appreciative of the effective treatment Blizzard has received over the course of her life by Southdale Pet Hospital. Blizzard’s days on this earth have been extended time and time again due to their fine expertise. Thank you Southdale Pet Hospital!

I got an appointment quickly. I've never had to wait too long. It is so refreshing to see a provider that you can tell truly cares about their appearance. They strive to maintain a professional appearance and look their best at all times. They've never used foul language, which has bothered me at some of the other places I've been too. They always make an extra effort to be polite and courteous. It has never crossed my mind to take my pets anywhere else due to their outstanding ability to perform any basic as well as complicated procedures. Their level of knowledge and experience is unlike any other vet I have ever been to. Their office was one of the quietest, most peaceful places I've ever visited. I was able to relax very easily.
