So, we have been customers of theirs for years. That has come to an end as I received a letter today stating that I was banned for: " interactions with personnel over the past several visits to our office have made it difficult to communicate with you in that manner. Your disregard for recommended follow-up appointments and lack of confidence in our recommendations make an effective veterinary-client-patient relationship possible." Keep in mind, I already took our dog to Countryside Veterinary Clinic, WHO ACTUALLY HELPED our dog, by the time I got this letter of "dismissal". We actually had a good relationship with this clinic, until recently. We had two schedule mix ups, where they scheduled us for days that we couldn't possibly have scheduled because we would be working at those times/days. Not that big of a deal as far as we were concerned. We would wait for them to fit us in and pay a full bill at time of service despite their lack of consistency. The follow-up issues they discuss involve their "new" - ish vet, Dr. Charlotte Detmer. Her favorite diagnosis is RINGWORM. Our dog apparently always has ringworm, although on a subsequent visit(and much money paid for 2 months of ringworm treatment), Dr. Hemker agreed that he didn't seem to have ringworm. She prescribed him Prednisone for skin allergies instead, and it cleared right up - yay for Dr. Hemker. This last visit was doomed. Becky, at the desk, had been told previously to not schedule us with Dr. Detmer. Well, I couldn't go personally for his ear infection (common with allergies) appointment because my basement flooded and a plumber showed up. Sent my daughter to the appointment with the dog, and I had to make the plumber leave because not only is Dr. Detmer administering to my dog and saying he has ringworm AGAIN, but she's also being rude to my daughter. I show up (5 minutes later) and send my daughter home, only to be rudely addressed by Dr. Detmer in the exam room, "May I help you?" As if she doesn't know I'm there to discuss the dog's issue. THE APPOINTMENT WAS FOR HIS EAR, AND SHE IS TOO BUSY LOOKING AT HIS "RINGWORM" and never looked in his ear. I complained and she didn't like it. I walked out of the exam room and she is shouting at me across the lobby area, telling me that she can send my records to another vet office. I retorted that SHE is the only vet I had an issue with. As I paid my bill, in full, as usual, for an exam that really didn't take place, Dr. Charlotte Detmer yells across the lobby again, saying "HAVE A NICE DAY SIR!", sarcastically. And that's what happened. Countryside Vet Clinic looked in his ear and treated it, gave him antibiotic for his ALLERGIC rash, and prescribed Zyrtec for his skin issue, affirming the diagnosis of allergies from previously mentioned Dr. Hemker - NOT RINGWORM. I can appreciate the clinic supporting their staff, but they just lost good paying long time customers supporting a member who may need additional training.

A few years ago, we had a baby pygmy goat that was getting sick in the winter time, so we brought him into this vet clinic. They said he was dehydrated and needed fluids so put him on IV's. We were giving medication as well and was to bring him home. Within the next couple days, he got progressively worse, so we took him back. They decided to keep him overnight. When we called the next afternoon to check on him, they had told us he had died earlier in the morning and had forgot to call us!!! Then they cremated him and charged us for the cremation before we had even received a call. We will not be going back to them ever!
