Years ago, our cat was diagnosed with late stage cancer. Back then, vets in Atlanta would not allow the chemo required for this type cancer to even be on their premises, because it was so dangerous. Then we found Dr Olsen, who started out as a human oncologist but decided to address the needs of animals with cancer. He saved Taffey's life and gave her years more to enjoy. We are on the northeast side of town but we regularly travel through Atlanta traffic to Marietta to see him, his wife (Diana) and the rest of the practice. They are that good.

We have been seeing Dr. Jory for many many years with our cavaliers and were always impressed with the staff and care given. Our cavalier also had seen a cardiologist in conjunction with Dr. Jory for several years with no issues, when our cardio retired I looked to find another cardio and ended up going to Blue Pearl. I have previously mentioned this Dr. Jory that we would be seeing another cardio. Our cavalier went into CHF with fluid while we were in between cardios and Dr. Jory took excellent care of him. We finally got in to see the cardio and there was a med tweak for one of the diuretics Dr Jory prescribed. I came into Dr. Jory's office with our other cavalier the very next day and told him of the change and that they (Blue Pearl) were going to send over their report to him and that they would like to see the radiographs of the fluid so they knew what it looked as he had no more fluid on his lungs. Dr. Jory said nothing to me during that visit about his concerns or anything and I thought that we were just going to continue the way we had done with our retired cardiologist. The next morning, I received a call from his staff informing me that he will no longer see our boy for his heart (the main reason we see him). Our boy is 11.5 years old and has seen Dr. Jory for years. The reason given was that we changed the protocol of the diuretic from the cardio advice at Blue Pearl. Dr Jory would not reconsider even after I pleaded with his staff that I would discontinue using a cardio and use him only. He will not speak directly to me about this and it just came out of left field. I try to do the best for my dog and I thought continuing having a cardio was a good thing. I am hurt that Dr Jory would not even speak to me or reconsider. He and his staff have always told me that he loves his patients like they are his own and I cannot believe this now. To throw an 11.5 year old cavalier to the street because of something he did not like that the cardiologist recommended and not bring his feelings to my attention has hurt me deeply. I am so saddened that he thinks so less of the care of the animal and the care I want to give my cavalier. Now, I cannot take my boy there for anything and my other boy I cannot take there as he has humiliated me and made me feel like I questioned him, which I never did. So, please be aware that you can be tossed aside without a thought or concern for the pet on his whim. I always recommended him and sang his praises but after this I no longer can as you do not know if you will be kicked to the curb like we were.
