She writes bad prescriptions. By this I mean that she writes prescriptions that cannot be filled because she prescribed a dose that does not exist, or wrote next year's date on the slip, or did just about any other sloppy thing you can imagine.

Her receptionist and the local pharmacy both know this. Her receptionist told me that I am not the first person who has voiced this complaint, but that he can't do anything.

I have literally never left her office without having to come back or play multi-day phone tag in order for her to simply correct her own damn work. The most recent time, I waited over a weekend without being able to fill a needed prescription, and she declined to make the correction without having me pay for another $100 appointment.

Also, apparently, she has TWO "supervisors!" You will not find any mention of this in her office. She certainly does not advertise herself as someone who lacks the power to make decisions regarding your psychiatric care. You also don't have the ability to talk to the person who actually makes those calls. And you probably won't hear about it from her until there's a problem.

She has never called me by the right name consistently through even one appointment. She has never called me by the same name through the same hour-long appointment.

I thought having such a conveniently-located psychiatrist would be great! Unfortunately, her massive bumbling incompetence completely negates any benefit I could have hoped for. She's ditzy: she can't remember facts from one visit to the next, and she can't remember facts from one sentence to the next. Be prepared to double-check every single thing she writes down, because she probably wrote it wrong. She's incompetent: she makes mistakes frequently and predictably. But the thing that really makes her a terrible therapist is the fact that she's not willing to own her weaknesses. She won't admit to herself that she has a terrible memory, and she won't admit to you that she doesn't actually know anything about the medication she just prescribed, and she'd rather send you off with a bogus prescription than let you see her look up the right dosing instructions. This is probably why she doesn't tell you that she has supervisors. This is absolutely the worst combination of negative traits she could possibly have: she's not good at her job, and she is terrified of other people finding that out, so she tries to hide it in ways that make her even less good at her job.

See someone else.
