I rate JC Penny's as zero stars. I would strongly advise you go pretty much anywhere else. I saw the same person there for probably about two years. I paid good money and tipped well. I came home and promptly cut the back of my hair myself every time. I had brought pictures and explained it everyway I could think of to no avail for the this entire time. At my last appointment, I asked her to shave the back of my head, to try to get what I was looking for. When my hair cut started I asked the hair dresser, Nikki, if she was cutting it short enough, I was quickly dismissed, I asked the same question at least four more times and was answered with increased attitude each time. I imagine any hairdresser ,worth any stars, would at this point pull out a mirror and show me how short it was and ask me if it was short enough. When she was done , she went to someone else's station and borrowed a hand held mirror, guess that's why she didn't show and ask me if it was short enough earlier, it was broken and she had to hold the mirror in with her thumb while I was trying to use it...? I told her I didn't like the back and explained what I wanted. She was very argumentative and went so far as to tell me, " That my hair was creating a shelf because I was looking at it with my head up, and needed to put my head down to look at it." Not sure how that's even possible. I explained that I didn't walk around with my head down. She then threw down a towel and her scissors and had a bit of a hissy fit. I left after being there for nearly three hours with a horrific cut. I went to the salon the following day and explained the situation and they scheduled some to fix my hair later that day. When I got there I was told I would be paying for someone to fix my hair. After we settled that I most certainly would not be paying for someone to fix my hair, Yana looked at it and said she wasn't sure what happened, because it wasn't even a discounted hair cut. She said she would have to take the length up. When Yana finished she said that the was the best she could do, I would have to wait for my hair to grow out some. I was satisfied with results, anything was an improvement over how I walked in, and tipped her well on my way out. I made a hair appointment with Yana the next time I needed to have my hair done. It was two weeks out. When I arrived I was told she was running late. I said no problem, I could wait. They asked if someone else could do my hair and I said, I would wait. Yana then told me that she had another client after me, and couldn't do my hair. I asked why they couldn't wait ,like I was, and got no reasonable answer. I offered to have someone else do the color and have her do the cut. That also couldn't be done, although, I had an appointment for a color and a cut scheduled with her for the past two weeks. They let me know that they tried to call me. I did indeed find that I had a missed call 20 minutes before my scheduled cut, at which point I had of course already left for the appointment.
