A range of long and short term injuries brought me to the Wellness Clinic after being told by doctors and acupuncturists that I should simply expect to live with chronic back pain, debilitating immobility and numbness in my neck, arms and hands including a locking condition referred to as ‘trigger finger’. I am an artist and academic researcher (with focus on human anatomy). I couldn’t work. I couldn’t clean my house, carry a heavy purse, or even lift my right arm without causing an irregular pulse. I couldn’t sleep through the night and then only on my stomach, supported by a jigsaw puzzle of carefully arranged pillows with my head turned sharply to one side – which of course exacerbated my injuries.

By far the most effective of the range of my treatment at the Clinic was a course of massage therapy performed by Colleen Holdener-Clark. I had always considered massage to be a luxury until a friend reported that massage had rectified numbness in her arms and hands. I found Coleen to be a masterful healer and intuit. She is extremely pleasant, knowledgeable and professional. She sensitively answers any inquires, generously explains the process of repair which she gently and deeply administers, and offers advice in a way that truly clarifies how the individual can and needs to be a critical part of that process by committing to a fast and easy but consistent regime of relaxed stretching and considered rebuilding.

After very few sessions with Coleen I experienced marked relief from all of my injuries and my symptoms have now almost completely subsided. I sleep on my back, my side, lift and carry, and make art again. I waited twenty years to find such relief and only wish I had started the recover process before my injuries were so compounded and my symptoms were so pronounced. The cost of treatment is a fraction of the cost of my inability to work and function. I cannot recommend Colleen highly enough.
