My Mother was with White Acres. They were ok a few years ago, but have gone down hill. They are always asking the elderly for more money as a donation and I feel they guilt these people into giving more than they should. (They pay rent...why do these people need more?)
The apartments are becoming rundown, parking is a problem, and the food has gotten worse in the past few years. When I cleaned out my mothers apartment, I found it had not been really cleaned since she moved in. The house keepers were not very good.
If I were you, find another place for your loved ones!

The staff is very friendly and for the most part pretty attentive. The nurses are wonderful; but it is obvious that they are short-staffed. I have to say that I was not pleased with the fact that whenever I visited my father; he was in his chair in the common area with the other residents. I understand that he was not supposed to be restrained in his bed or chair in his room; but being in the common area most of the time was not what we were told would be his main existence. We were told that there would be activities and rehabilitation filling up most of his days. It was two weeks before the on call doctor evaluated my father. The meal menus were not as healthy as I would hope. One menu consisted of a hamburger and chips. Another one was a roll and ravioli. We were expecting more veggies and fruit.
I had decided that after his twenty days of rehabilitation that he was coming back home.
