About

Saint James House of Baytown

In 1957, Bishop John Hines appointed a Commission on the Aged, which concluded that the Episcopal Diocese of Texas had a very definite responsibility toward the establishment of a home to help meet the vastly growing needs of older people, whose greatest problems after physical health were economic security, emotional security and housing suited to their needs.

Today we are able to provide skilled nursing care and rehabilitation services to 105 residents of all faiths. In addition, our beautiful Alexander Hall, with 40 apartment units, provides complete independent living to older adults. Our property is removed from the stress and congestion of the big city, yet close enough to the area’s major medical centers; 30 minutes from downtown Houston, 12 minutes from Pasadena, and 45 minutes from Galveston.

St. James House and Alexander Hall were formed as a non-profit, 501 (c)(3) organization. We are committed to providing the highest level of professional care in a warm, loving and Christian environment.
