I had a loved one who spent very grueling 6 mths st this facility. In addition to not communicating with us , my brother was not sent to hospital in a timely fashion. I had arrived both when he went s eptic also dehydrated and on a another similar occasion he had a dangerous blood clot in his leg.. They claimed due to him not receiving wound care on his heal. My brother was paralyzed , a leg amputee , suffered from severe emphysema and a painful blood clot, Jefferson health care called the Lees Summit Police on him because he had a photo of an elderly resident whom was a allowed to crawl and one where she fell. Although against HIPPA , or their policies it is NOT Criminal. They refused to call me, as that could have been an easy fix . The Jefferson Health Care's Administrator., Diirector of nursing , social worker and Dr on staff on December 1,2015 after very careful consideration decided that he should be discharged /evicted to my address or the City Union Mission (Homeless Shelter) He was critically ill. How critical was he he passed before the hearing date December 29th, Dischage/ Eviction scheduled for December 30, 2015. This facility lacks Medical Professionalism, Moral Integrity, and proper Communicatoon skills required for this type of care..
Touring Jefferson Health Care today is different than it was in the past. Things have greatly improved over the years, especially in the last year under new management. It is clean, smells like cookie s or popcorn depending on the day, staff is very nice and residents are content and happy. Did great on their state inspections and have added great additions to their staff.
