My dad was a patient at the rehab after contracting COVID in January 2021. We were not able to visit him and it made everything so much harder. Director of Russian program, Alla Volkova made the best out of this difficult situation. Her willingness to provide help , to be patient advocate when relatives can’t be, her understanding of what families are going thru during this pandemics are very commendable. It makes life of patients and their families tolerable during these uncertain times.

Our mother had Alzheimers for several years at home. She was 90 years old and unfortunately we thought we were doing the right thing by having her go into a nursing home. WRONG! or at least BRIARLEAF was wrong as far as some of the nursing care went, as far as the nursing assistants went, and the food was just plain awful. There were not enough nurses/employees to take care of the patients. If patients were loud, were somewhat disruptive, didn't want to leave their room, or just not want to do what they wanted them to do or go, they made them. Our mother actually had a severe cut on her arm that she sustained while being pulled out of her room by her doorway. Yes, guilt set in. So, we made sure at least one of her daughters and other relatives were with her almost every day and evening. Even the 3-11 shift didn't really do anything but give out water to each room at 10PM for the following morning. So it sat all night. Then they would sit and doze or talk and laugh. So real help to the patients. I believe other negatives that occurred there as well. I would never, ever, place any of my relatives in Briarleaf Nursing Home.
