I was referred by L&I to go to a panel of doctors for review. Dr. Clark was one of those on the panel. I didn't go willingly, however, because of his Health-Grade scores, reviews and information I gathered about him. Actually, this was the case for ALL the doctors on this panel.

While being interviewed by one of the doctors, Dr. Clark was in attendance. I found him to be very unemotional, cold and his questions were directed in a very challenging and accusing manner. I found him to be very unsatisfactory as far as personality and 'bed-side-manner' and I mentioned it to the doctor who was the primary examiner - after Dr. Clark left the room. I discovered that Dr. Clark was told how I felt.

When it came time for my appointment with Dr. Clark, he sat down and mentioned the fact that the other doctor told him I seemed to have some issue with him. In response, I said, "Well, yes. You seem very abrupt." With that, he said that he felt he was not the doctor for me and should get another doctor. In total agreement, I responded that I felt he was probably 100% correct.

I am not a child. I am a 67 year old professional and because of a severe accident and multiple injuries, I have seen many doctors. From my experience with this doctor, I found him to be a bully and very unsympathetic to my situation. I felt he was trying to make it sound that one of my falls was maybe MY fault - because of the way and the type of questions he asked earlier.

He would NEVER get a referral from me and I am writing this review so some other poor soul doesn't experience what I did. It was probably a blessing that I didn't for any further into the process with this appointment. Being who I am, I can stand up for myself when needed, but there are others out there who may not be and I would hate them to be subjected to someone that, in my opinion, should find another type of work that is more conducive to his type of personality. What is the expression, "Physician, heal thyself!" Hmmm.

I went to see this man after having been sexually abused as a child and having some difficulties as an adult. This man was clearly unsympathetic and thought he knew more about me than I did. He bullied me while interviewing me. When I started to cry he just continued with his bullying tactics claiming that I had a hystrionic personality. Later I found that he wrote in his notes that he doubted that I would ever be able to hold a job or support myself in any meaningful way. I am now one of the top professionals in my field in the Seattle area. The psychologist that I saw following my visit with Dr. Clark encouraged me to file a complaint with the Department of Health and the Licensing Division. At the time, I was too broken to do so. But I've never forgotten how horrible he made me feel and how violated I felt after my visit with him. By the way, I've been at my latest job for over 10 years. Not bad for someone who was so messed up they couldn't be expected to even hold a job or support themselves in a meaningful way.

In addition, I know Dr. Clark has done several IMEs for the Department of Labor and Industries. How sad that a so-called expert is doing that kind of work for the State. Reminds me of Dr. Alan Stewart Greenberg...and the harm he did.
