I have a serious work related injury. My chiropractor suggested that I go see Dr. Marinkovich in order to get a prescription for an anti-inflammatory. First of all, when I called in to get an appointment, the office assistant tried her very best to get my insurance information out of me more than once. If you have an L and I case you do not need to provide your insurance information. She told me I was wrong. Then I show up for the appointment 10 minutes early to fill out paperwork regarding medical history. I was 1 of 2 people in the waiting room/lobby. I finished the paperwork in 10 minutes. 45 minutes later, I was called back to a room. I was then left to sit there for 10 more minutes before the doctor came in. He asked me all of the questions that I had already answered on the paperwork that I filled out. He then threw 2 robes on the bed and said "Change into these." He then left for 5-10 minutes to make a few phone calls. When he returned he asked me, because of where I work, if I knew a certain person. This person happens to be my manager. He then proceeded to say "She is a patient here. That woman has had quite the battle." He kept going before I cut him off and redirected his focus. He asked me what my pain level was at and I told him that I was at about a 7. He then proceeded to jab (not just lightly poke) my back. I was instantly in so much pain that I started to cry and he said I'm sorry but I have to do this if you want answers. He roughly, very roughly, poked around my back for a few minutes. He then sat down and said that I needed to discontinue all types of therapy and start taking medication instead. He said that before we continued he would need to take X-rays, mri's and have another examination done. He did not trust the chiropractor's diagnosis of my back and said that I should basically start from scratch and that he would set it all up for me. At this point, I told him that I wanted a second opinion and he said "Oh, so you don't feel that today went well? Do you mind telling me why?" I was still crying at this point and I told him that I didn't think that I owed him any kind of explanation and that if we were done here that I would like to leave. He stayed in the room for multiple minutes more and tried to bully my reasoning for wanting to leave out of me. I have had serious back problems for 10 years and have seen a wide variety of doctors. This was, by far, the worst experience that I have ever had with a medical professional. If you have another option for a doctor, I highly encourage you to take that option and to stay far FAR away from this doctor.
