I was sent to Dr. MacFarlane after three neurosurgeons refused to take my case of spinal stenosis. I have had two fusions in 6 years (different areas) and absolutely adore the doctor!!! He is a layed-back guy with a caring, genuine personality. I have been told he is a "tiger" in surgery. Having been a long time OR nurse, I surely appreciate that! But, he is no tiger in the consulting room!!! My surgeries have turned out perfectly, and I would go back to him in a heart beat!

Getting an appointment at this office wasn't too difficult. I would never visit them again. I was devastated when my problems continued after two spine surgeries. I would never recommend them to anyone. I needed a total revision of my fusion and a THIRD surgery from another provider. I know spine surgery can be difficult to get right, but Dr Macfarlane didn't correct the curve in my lumbar spine and left me with a failed fusion as well as a "flat back." I am still recovering from my THIRD surgery from another provider. If you have a very simple problem, he might be OK (maybe?) but if you have a complex problem, consider looking elsewhere.
