It has been a few years since we visited Dr. Lopez, but I found her name when I was helping a friend find a psychiatrist for their child. I would NOT recommend her to anyone. I took my son to her after his therapist suggested we speak to a psychiatrist to discuss anti-depressants. It took 3 months to get the first appointment. I first spoke to her alone and told her he had been happy and social until the 4th grade when he started getting bullied at school. We were also having a problem with our teenage daughter at the time and I thought that may be causing some of his anxiety and depression. He was now in the 5th grade. She spoke to him and he was very withdrawn and shy and didn't particularly want to be there at all. She was not very sensitive for a doctor working with children. She then spoke to me alone. The first thing she said is, "Your son is so weird!" I was really taken aback that a psychiatrist would say that, especially about a child. There was no mention of what he was going through and it made me really angry and protective of my sweet, bright child. She recommended I take him for multiple tests to determine if he had Asperger's. I was fine with that, but didn't think that was the issue. He was tested shortly afterwards and the group of doctors, psychologists and therapists at the clinic found him to have a very high IQ, he was personable, funny and cooperative. He didn't have Asperger's. Now, I'm not saying he shouldn't have been tested, because I wanted to rule out any other issues so we could get him the help he needed. All I'm saying is that I found Dr. Lopez to be extremely insensitive and unprofessional and I can't believe she works with children at all.

Dr. Lopez is nearly impossible to speak to, whether you are another doctor needing a referral, or a patient. When a phone call was actually returned in a time of debilitating panic attacks, she offered to "double the medicine, and go to the ER, because I don't know what to do"
