Dr. Woodward overdosed me on estrogen; kept increasing my dosage of implanted estradiol pellets without doing any lab work to check my estradiol level. No matter what symptoms I experienced, he always said more estrogen was the answer. He sounded so official with his special FDA approval for the implanted estrogen treatment? When I developed breast pain after over two years and went back to my earlier gynecologist, she found my estradiol to be way higher than the ninth month of pregnancy level. And I wondered why every area of my life had become so chaotic? I incurred relationship, career and financial losses while I waited another two plus years for my estradiol level to come down. My health has declined ever since in unsuccessful efforts by gynecologists and internists to alleviate recurring hot flashes and sleeplessness. Now I have breast cancer. My breast surgeon admitted to having seen lots of Dr. Woodward's patients who received this implanted high level of estradiol HRT presenting with breast cancer.

I visited him when I was 18, a virgin, in the 1970s. I had a menstrual problem, and it was related to my thyroid. I thought he was rude and abrasive. My mother wanted to see him herself. She always liked him.
He did a very painful pelvic exam.
I saw him on and off a few years, including after my brief marriage. He can't conceive of someone not having sex. He harassed me about my weight. I lost gobs once, and ended up seriously depressed, and gained it all back.
In his old age, he writes about sex and weight constantly. He has been disciplined by the medical board for using a French weight loss drug not licensed in the US.
He isn't greedy or knife-happy, but he was not for me.
