My experience at this practice has been mixed. I've seen both Dr. Payne and one of his NPs, and both were friendly and had good bedside manner; however, I suffer from four slipped disks as well as other chronically painful conditions, and the most they would prescribe for me was 800mg of ibuprofen (they recommended I buy it OTC to save money) and a very mild muscle relaxer.

I appreciate that they are careful to keep their patients from abusing medications, but there are times that medication is needed, and they're not easily willing to prescribe medications that provide relief. However, they do thorough testing to get to the bottom of what could be ailing you. If you're looking for a Dr. of Internal Medicine that believes in allowing your body to power through the pain on its own, then Dr. Payne and his practice is an excellent place to go. It just wasn't for our family.

He also seems to specialize in geriatric patients; that information might be helpful, too.
