Cape Fear Center for Digestive Diseases, P.A. (CFCDD). Originally established in July 1989, located in the heart of Cumberland County our Fayetteville office also serves patients in the five surrounding counties. In November 2009 we opened our Endoscopy Center, a state-of-the-art facility for performing outpatient endoscopic procedures. Our facility is Medicare & AAAHC accredited.

Dr. J. Wes Jones graduated Cum Laude at Duke University with a B.A. degree in Zoology. He also received his MD degree from Duke University Medical School and completed his Internal Medicine residency as well at Duke. In 1983, Dr. Jones was board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, having completed his Gastroenterology fellowship at Duke in 1983.

Dr. Jones began private practice in Fayetteville in 1983. He is founder and senior partner of Cape Fear Center for Digestive Diseases, P.A.

Dr. Jones has been recognized for his professional, volunteer and civic involvement by local and international organizations, including Curamericas Global; La Sociedad Boliviana de Gastroenterologia Filial, Santa Cruz, Bolivia; Cumberland Community Foundation; Methodist University; N.C.S.F.R.E, Asheville, NC, and by a local chapter of the Boy Scouts of America. He received the FACP and AGAF awards for his medical missions in Bolivia, founding the Upper Cape Fear Valley Gut Club, authorship of Cure Constipation Now and his review of the Duke experience with bile acid conjugation.

Dr. Jones is married to Lucy Jones, a community volunteer. Dr. Jones currently serves on the Medical Alumni Board for Duke University and is a director (and past chair) of Curamericas Global, international office, Raleigh, NC. He is a former trustee of Methodist University and Brevard College, former director of Fayetteville Area Youth for Christ and Cumberland Community Foundation.

Dr. Jones' special interests include both medical and dietary management of various G.I. disorders including Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), GE reflux, Crohn's Disease, Ulcerative Colitis as well as celiac sprue. Dr. Jones is skilled in conventional and therapeutic colonoscopy and endoscopy.
