Services OTC Medications: Sometimes, the pain and inflammation of rheumatological diseases can be relieved with over-the-counter NSAID (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) pain relievers. These include ibuprofen, aspirin, and naproxen. Dr. Morell will work with you to determine which medication and which dosage is best for your unique needs. We don’t want patients to rely solely on OTC medications, but they are helpful in providing quick relief when experiencing an attack of pain.

Injectable Medications: Injectable medications used to treat rheumatological conditions include hyaluronic acid and steroids such as cortisone. Cortisone does not provide immediate pain relief, but by decreasing inflammation, it reduces the amount of pain the patient experiences. Injectable medication provides a longer term decrease in symptoms than do over-the-counter medications.

Infusion Suite: Our facility features a state-of-the-art infusion suite, where patients receive intravenous medications to slow or stop the progression of joint destruction. We partner with Altus Infusion, an infusion company based in Shadow Creek, TX. In our suite, patients receive one- to two-hour intravenous infusions to treat inflammation. These infusions use biologics that work with the immune system to put patients into remission from rheumatological diseases.

Balance+Plus: Many rheumatological issues result in balance problems. Dr. Morell and his team evaluate a patient’s risk for balance problems, so that we can diagnose the cause and prescribe a rehabilitation program, using our Balance+Plus equipment, if needed. In this way, we can help a patient avoid a fall, which can potentially have devastating effects on a patient’s lifestyle, or can even be possibly life-threatening.

I’m concerned with this doctor because the front desk let me know that he does not fill out paperwork if your applying for Workers Compensation or Disability and make you sign to the fact that your visit is not to used to determine these things. Arthritis can be debilitating. This makes me think that he’s not willing to stand by his diagnostic findings. Another thing that was weird is that I didn’t fill out any paperwork. Yes, I was a referral, but I always filled out paper work that asked about medical history and what my symptoms are. It was a strange visit when I look back upon it. I don’t think I will continue with this doctor. For me, red flags are waving frantically.
