I have been treated by Dr. Grant for several years now. However, all of a sudden things have gone completely "hay wire". I was initially prescribed 1000 mgs of Kazano that made me very, very ill. During this period my doctor had to have this medication approved by my insurance company before I would be able to use it. I waited for several weeks and never heard anything from anyone. In the meantime I was provided with samples by my physician. I contacted my insurance company only to find out that following the denial of my medication that no one ever followed up. I returned to my physician and informed his staff of the long wait. They blamed it on the insurance company. I eventuallly got the insurance company to correct and clarify this. The insurance company informed me that since I was in need of the medication that they would process the request as a courtesy, however the doctor would eventually have to do his part. When I received the medication from the pharmacy it had been prescribed 1000mg and not 500mg. When I last visited that doctors office I was again given samples of the 1000mg pills and not 500mgs. I contacted the doctors office and was informed by Antoinette that the doctor was not in today and that I had to call back tomorrow. In the meantime, I am without medication i.e. 500mg Kazano until further notice. I must say that on many occassions it has been difficult for me to speak with the doctor. I have either spoken to the Nurse Practicioner and/or the office staff.
no one appears to be following up in a timely fashion. There have been other issues that I have spoken to his staff about. The staff appear to be getting upset with me, however, what would they do if they were in my shoes? I should not been seen as a bother (which appears to be the reaction/response on the telephone). I just think that it is important that when someone is placed on a medication that makes them feel even more ill, why would someone give them samples of the same medication and then not change their prescription/medication to the proper dosage in a timely fashion. In the meantime I am without the proper medication.
