I believe this is the same Mark Lipton who was my internist in 2009. I hope he is a better cardiologist than an internist. I saw him for problems including slight mental fog that I believed was due to hypothyroidism, and frequent viral infections. He pooh-poohed my concerns, did not order tests beyond the standard blood work, and didn't refer me to any specialists. Years later I've been diagnosed with a zinc deficiency that I believe I have had for decades. Of course this is one of the first things Dr. Lipton should have wondered about when I told him I had frequent infections, but he never tested my zinc level. When I finally went on thyroid medication the subtle problems I'd had for years cleared up, including the mental fog I had told Dr. Lipton about. I believe he should have placed me on low dose thyroid medication. My health and quality of life suffered because of lack of treatment.
