I was going through an extremely rough time in my life 4 years ago . I was sent to Dr. Gillow through a mutual friends doctor and right off the back I think she could tell I was having a nervous breakdown , panic attacks , paranoia , and severe domestic problems with my fiance'. over the next 6 months I had couples counseling , had my mother in , was stbalized with medicine then taken off medicine safely , and encouraged to step back into society which I had not done in quite awhile . I'm gonna give you some examples of the things she did for me . Quite revealing and maybe she wouldn't do this unless she was checking to see if I was still alive or not but if I called with a severe emergency she'd call me back on a holiday morning!!!! Once I called her in a blackout and I felt so embarassed and then she talked me into going back to 12 step meetings which I was originally opposed to . I eventually did a geographic back to Los Angeles where after some legal problems as a result of not taking care of myself and keeping up with someone like Marianne I got arrested and I was facing real time. She sent a letter to the courts . I was released . I am forever in debt . I've seen hundreds and if you ask her about this review I give her full permission to indulge to you more about me without telling you my identity . T.D.

Dr. Gillow has that rare combination in a physician of expertise and empathy. Her mission is to help others, and she obviously takes it seriously — so much so that she has been available to me in emergency situations on nights, weekends, even while she was on vacation. I'm not advocating that any doctor shouldn't be able to take a vacation, but Dr. Gillow was there for me in an emergency and I am eternally grateful. She's a specialist (psychopharmacology) but in my opinion she's the best one in New York. I wouldn't use any other doctor and highly recommend Dr. Gillow to anyone (and I have).
