Whenever I've waited in waiting rooms, the magazine selection the have usually makes the time go by faster, but not here. They had less than five magazines all of which were boring and outdated. I felt very judged during my appointments. I couldn't believe how accusatory and condescending they were, and I couldn't wait for it to be over. They briefly listened to me, but quickly downplayed everything I said or stopped paying attention. They didn't seem too happy to be helping me. Maybe they were just having a bad day, but they could have been nicer. I did not feel safe at all in their care. I definitely had doubts about their qualifications.

This was the worst experience in my life. I went to him looking for a fresh perspective on my condition. He put my on Depakote. I kept telling him my depression was getting worse (I am bi-polar). He kept increasing the dosage on the Depakote - which is an archaic choice in pharmaceutical therapy. One time he said "would you rather get AIDS and be broke or deal with your depression". These are my choices? The medication caused me to lose almost all of my hair and I gained 40 pounds. Ended up hospitalized and the first thing they did was take me off the Depakote. Any type of doctor I have seen have been horrified when they learned I was on Depakote. I never went to see him again. I started a different medication, cut down from a cocktail of three meds to just one. I have never felt better.
