I came to Dr. Pat Scanlon's office for a second opinion on a tumor I had on my sternum. My first doctor had been very rude and not concerned with my fears or how serious the situation was at the time and also made jokes about my concerns .When I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Scanlon and told his nurse exactly what was going on and how rapidly this mass (we had yet to find out it was a tumor) was growing, they allowed me to come in the very next day (Thursday). During my first visit, Dr. Scanlon was very friendly, professional, and upon looking at the mass, he wasn't too prideful to say that he may not be able to take it out simply because he had never seen anything like it. He ordered a MRI for the very next day, and according to the technician that morning, he was watching the images as they were coming in. I felt like I was in the best hands possible. After leaving the hospital from the MRI, I received a call within two hours from Dr. Scanlon himself saying he was very confident he could do this, and he ordered my surgery for the following Monday. He did a wonderful job. You can barely tell where he operated on my chest. I consider this very impressive considering the mass was 4+ cm. Since the surgery, he has kept up with my progress, and he also treats my concerns as extremely important. He even told me if I was ever afraid of a regrowth or have any question to never hesitate to call him, and I know he meant it genuinely. Two months later, he took my gallbladder out and we had the exact same experience. Not only is Dr. Scanlon a wonderful doctor, he is a stand-up human being. His staff is also very friendly and respectful. I wouldn't hesitate to refer anyone to him.

They've never dismissed any of my concerns as unimportant, and take every concern of mine very seriously. They are always so attentive and caring. They take the time to really listen to all of my opinions, and address all of my concerns. I love how much attention to detail they show. They are always so careful and meticulous. I never have to worry about them making a mistake or forgetting something.
