Upon arrival, I waited at front desk several minutes. Because the receptionist wasn't available, I sat down in waiting area and was finally acknowledged several minutes later. There was a newspaper and several magazines available for patients in the waiting area. It would have been nice to have a water bubbler available. I noticed a convenience store across the hall, so I went over and purchased a bottled water. We waited 15 minutes before going back to see the Dentist which is an average amount of time in my opinion. I've waited longer elsewhere, not to say that that is acceptable. Dental Assistant was kind and sensitive to my daughter's needs. Dr. Hutchinson eased my daughter's anxiety with humor when entering procedure room. Doctor answered all questions patiently and thoroughly. My daughter's procedure went well with no complications. After surgery, the Dental Assistant went over post-op care instructions thoroughly with both my daughter and me, answering all our questions. We did not feel rushed in any way. I also want to mention that the cost for my daughter's oral surgery was far less expensive than quoted by other Oral Surgeons. I would highly recommend Dr. Hutchinson to my family and friends for oral surgery.

lol, that last review, I don't even. My oral surgeon did shake my hand, actually, which was not something I would expect or require, but was really nice and comforting at the time. Though I'm not sure why anyone would be outraged about a medical professional who literally has to be free of germs for their job to go out of their way with the physical contact thing. They have to wash and glove up anyway, but, honestly. It was more his demeanor that reassured me, he sounded very experienced, but not stodgy, very easygoing, just what I needed to feel more relaxed. All the other staff had a very similar vibe, like they knew just what they were doing, went out of the way to make it easier for me, joked with me to help me relax, every single one of them was really great, the assistants, the receptionists, they all just had their stuff down. They even understood me with gauze in my mouth, when my brother was like HUH?

Generally, this place was amazing, I was so nervous, and they did nothing but make me feel comfortable and less scared and not worry about the costs, which were some 1500 dollars less than I was expecting from what the last guy quoted me! (who said 'all oral surgeons in the area cost the same', dude sounded like a used car salesman). I paid 780, for all four wisdom teeth out (1 impacted, 2 up in the sinuses which is a kind of impaction but cheaper, and 1 fully errupted, and full anesthesia, with 50% coverage for everything). So 1560 for the whole deal. If you poke around the internet, (and I did which is how I knew the first guy was nuts) that's really good, especially considering the quality of care I received. It's a very nice office too, beautiful, honestly. Scheduling was easy, they were awesome on the phone even when I was all wary about costs, they were happy to quote me prices for the ICD9 codes I had from the first guy.

What else? Um, it's morning after, now, and my recovery has been way easier than what everybody at work told me. I mean, it's the weekend, but bearing in mind the annoyance of extra time for meds and food complications, I could easily head off to work today. Though I know it depends on the person. But considering what I had done, I'm way below par. I mean one of my teeth was sideways, and super low along the jawbone, I don't even know how you would get that thing out, and I'm definitely more sore there, which they mentioned would happen, but mostly I'm pretty okay. And I'm a big whiner about medical stuff. Haven't needed the stronger pain meds outside of sleeping. They gave me reusable ice packs, which I hadn't even expected, thought I would have to buy them at the pharmacy after. I haven't turned black and blue or swelled up really at all. My feeling all came right back a few hours later.

Oh, and when I freaked out again, later, because I was still bleeding after the gauze ran out, and called in, the guy just calmly had my brother check where the blood was still coming from, and it turned out it was just some residual oozing, and seemed like more than it was cause I kept the gauze on too long, nothing to worry about, but they took it very seriously and made me feel safe, even without direct medical contact.

So yeah, extremely positive. Gonna recommend this place to a friend who needs hers out. Agh, tl;dr. Sorry, lots of feels.
