I had an excellent experience here. I had an emergency tooth extraction and was made to feel at ease. They were very professional and kind. I could not be happier.

Humiliating Experience

I was referred to this clinic by my regular dentist to have a molar extracted. On the day of my oral surgery everything went amazingly fine! The surgery came off without a blemish. The assistant was really quite nice. Dr. Olsen, on the other hand, had a really bad bedside manner. He said maybe 7 words to me before the surgery. When I woke up from the anesthetic he was nowhere to be found. I never saw him again. The assistant was there. I was given no post op instructions at all and he didn't come in to tell me if he found an infection or anything. But I was given a script for an antibiotic and Norco. I filled both prescriptions and took all the antibiotic. The Norco didn't agree with me, so I only took it the first day. I really did not have any pain for the first 2 days at all. On the 3rd day, I started experiencing soreness on that side of my mouth. By the 6th day, I was in pain! I called the office just to ask if it was "normal" for me to have pain strike up that long after the surgery? I was told by the person on the phone that she did not know, and Dr. Olsen was not in the office. She said if I was still having pain, the next day, to call back. So when I woke up the next day, still in pain, I called them back. This is where everything went wrong. The lady on phone told me to come in that the Dr. was there. I live an hour away, but I drove up there. My appt was at 10 am and I was not taken in until 10:30. That didn't really bother me. There was a different assistant this time and she was "out of it". I had to explain to her no less than 4 times that I was "in pain" and not just feeling "sore". She said "well I don't know what you think the doctor can do for you". She then asked me if I had gone to see my regular dentist? I said "why would I do that, I had the surgery here?". She then said, "maybe you have another tooth by it that needs a root canal". WHAT? I looked at her like, "who is this woman and why is she so unprofessional". But I kept my mouth shut. She looked inside my mouth, and said, "I don't see anything, but I'll go get the Dr.". She said, "I'm a little confused about what to tell him, you are having soreness?". I said once again, "NO, I'm having pain!!" Dr. Olsen finally came in and I explained to him that everything was going along fine until day 6 and then the pain hit me. I asked him if that was normal? I was just concerned that maybe I got something stuck inside the hole or that it was infected. He then became dismissive and very rude. He looked inside my mouth and said he saw no infection and nothing was wrong. Then he said, that sometimes it's normal to have pain for 7 to 10 days after surgery. His attitude was like I was there bothering him and wasting his time! I told him that was really all I wanted to know when I called in, was it normal? He said, "well the girl on the phone can't diagnose you". I said I realize that, I didn't want a diagnosis, I just wanted to know if pain was "normal" that long after having a tooth pulled, as I had been given no post op instructions. They both treated me as if I were there drug seeking. I am 63 years old! My sister was in the room with me the entire time. She got very upset with the Dr and started to tell him off. I cooled her down and said, "Lets just get out of here". It was the most humiliating experience! I've never been treated like that in a professional setting. I've never been spoken to in such a dismissive way. I was in pain, and he had no concern for that at all. He just added to my distress! This isn't a review about a surgery gone wrong, it's about the level of unprofessional behavior by the staff that attended me on that 2nd visit. I will never go back there and would never refer that place. I read the other review by the woman with the blood pressure issue. I will have to add at this point, that I am also an overweight woman and so is my sister. Maybe Dr. Olsen has a problem with women that have weight issues , just saying! The aftercare there was non existent for me.
