I have been seeing different provider in this office for the last 3 years. When I became pregnant, my intake was scheduled for 4 week gestation. I was informed at that appointment that my prenatal care would begin at 6 weeks pregnant due to being a high risk client. 5 days later I went in for spotting. I was charged for this visit (despite having fully covered prenatal appointments). I was also billed for an ultrasound that never occurred. I was sent to a high risk OBGYN the following week and had to follow up with the regular OBGYN at Clinton Women's Healthcare 3 days following the high risk OBGYN. I was once again charged for the visit because the office refused to bill as prenatal care, despite still being pregnant. When I spoke to my insurance company about this practice's billing process, they recommended finding a new provider because they should be billing as prenatal as long as the pregnancy was still ongoing. They seem to be creating a barrier for women accessing prenatal care in times of crisis.
