As a student temporarily living in the Mount Pleasant area, I needed some dental work done. I have a family dentist back home that I have been seeing for some time, but I wanted something more convenient for my dental work as home is about an hour and a half drive away. I came across Dr. Dzingle's office through a Google search of dentists in the area. I was due for a cleaning and I knew beforehand I was more than likely needed a filling or two. Firstly, I must admit I'm not as knowledgeable when it comes to understanding my parent's insurance information as I should, but the receptionist had no patience in trying to explain to me how it would work. She really lacks any sort of empathy and was very snappy with her responses as if I were irritating her saying things to the tune of "it wasn't her fault I didn't understand the insurance information or practices" and "that's just how things are done" (I never once raised my voice or got angry with her. I was simply confused and wanting her help). Also, their office charges you immediately up front while YOU are left to be compensated from your insurance. My experience with Dr. Dzingle was much more pleasant. He seems like a very intelligent man, but he is more a businessman than a dentist. I was told I needed work done on two cavities which didn't surprise me, but his cost was outrageous. I had to call my mother to confirm the work to be done and even she wasn't sure the extent that the insurance would cover. Our insurance normally covers the composite resins (tooth colored fillings). My parents are both in education and have excellent dental coverage of which I'm under for the time being, but Dr. Dzingle's amount was around $500 for one filling! However, he explained that what he does "is different" and "better" than what most dentists do. So we bought the sales pitch. Later, unfortunately, as my parents are busy individuals, they had overlooked a billing statement that had been sent in the mail regarding the work that was done. My father was immediately summoned to small claims court without so much as a phone call or polite reminder for the bill that was due. He called the office to seek clarification on the bill and an explanation for the summons where again the same receptionist was rude and indifferent to our situation. Ultimately, I would NOT recommend this office to a friend, acquaintance, or anyone with young children because Dr. Dzingle and the office staff occasionally, and unwarrantedly, used curse words in normal speech with me. I'm not sensitive to cursing at all, I just found it extremely unprofessional. There were also a few innuendos that I was able to overhear that were sexual in nature. Again, I couldn't care less about WHAT was said, it was just the fact that it was being said in what I perceived to be a professional setting. ANOTHER REVIEW FROM RATEMDS.COM: "The office requires that you pay upfront and take months to process a claim to your insurance. They overcharge for procedures and do not tell you the truth about what is covered and how much it is going to cost actually until you contact the insurance company. They are a rip off. Do not go there ever. The office staff is very rude. They are crooks by over pricing and lie to you."

doesnt work with your insurance. you have to pay everything up front and then your insurance needs to reimburse you. totally defeats the purpose of insurance and creates more problems for the customer in that way.
